Hi everyone
Thanks to all of you who attended the meeting before the Crane talk.
We are working on forming an organising committee with those members who have expressed an interest in getting involved. The next step is to formulate a calendar of events for our club. With that in mind I have included a link to the latest newsletter from BirdLife Overberg which lists some interesting events that we might want to participate in.
Let me know your thoughts.
The blog is now up and running as you can see. Here we can record our bird sightings, chat about possible upcoming events and generally exchange information with each other.
In the meantime, let's decide which of these (if any) upcoming events we want to attend. Birding Big Day is certainly one we must start thinking about. Looking forward to your suggestions and ideas about events you'd like to see on the calendar and how you want the weblog to develop.

Nice article - the birding is so good here, but part of me wants to keep it a secret! My favourites are the Clapper Larks that we have in abundance on the farm, along with the many Swallows and Swifts. The Greater Striped Swallows and White Throated Swallows are busy building nests at present, lots of competitions for the best sites! Love the logo pic Bri - could we maybe have a way of posting our bird pics on this site? Well Done Andi and Brian - this is a great start x
ReplyDeleteThanks Di. I also love the logo pic! Maybe Brian can figure out how members can upload their pics.. ?

ReplyDeleteFollow the link above for information on how to contribute to this amazing international bird photography event - the aim is to draw attention to global warming through raising an awareness of how wonderful birds are and how much we should be aware of preserving their environment - well worth a look, I'll be joining in on 24 October anyway...
