Baby Owl in Vei Street, Greyton

Storms a year or two ago shattered an old oak tree on Vlei Street, Greyton. This provided a perfect nesting place, and I have watched a baby owl there gradually getting bigger and fluffier over the past weeks. I took a photo of it in situ on 31st October 2009.

    Did you know that last year a bunch of brats from Heuwelkroon attacked and killed one of the baby owls, using sticks and setting their dogs on the poor creature? Everyone please make sure that you are discreet in observing the nest so as not to draw other people's attention to it. Thank you.
